Personalized Bot

Create custom chatbots with unique personalities for any use case

One of the most common use case requests we get is to quickly create a Chatbot with a "Persona" in mind that is right for the use case. For example, in HR, the persona could be an HR Manager, or in Tech Support, it could be a Tech Support assistant. With Model HQ, there is a very quick and simple way to create your own custom Personalized Bot.

At LLMWare, we are big fans of "The Office" so we will create a Michael Scott bot to illustrate how easy it is to create a personalized bot.

Tip

To create this bot, the most important item is to make sure you have a good set of prompt instructions. We created a set of prompt instructions for this bot already, but one of the methods to easily create a prompt for the chatbot is to ask ChatGPT (or any other large model you have access to) to create a prompt for a small chatbot using [x] as a persona. If you input sample interactions, speeches, or other examples of this persona, the prompt gets more specific and creates a much better bot.

For the Michael Scott bot, we came up with the prompt by asking ChatGPT to:

"Create new instructions styled in the voice of Michael Scott from the hit TV show The Office. Also create a lot of information about the show that the bot should reference."

We provide the prompt below so you can copy and paste it if you want to try the experiment yourself.

1. Selecting the Model

  1. 1Go to Main Menu → Bots → Build New → Models
  2. 2Name the Bot: Michael Scott Bot
  3. 3You'll land in the Model and Agent Configuration Screen

Model Settings - make the following selections:

  • Model Size: Small
  • Model Selection:
    • llama 3.2-3b-instruct-gguf (if using Qualcomm)
    • llama 3.2-3b-instruct-ov (if using Intel)
  • Model User Input: Choose for User

Leave the rest of the settings as default and click > at the bottom of the screen.

2. Prompting the Bot

  1. 1Go to RAG in Configure Michael Scott Bot screen. (If coming from the Models screen, you should see the RAG button. Otherwise, go to Bots → RAG.)
  2. 2In the Prompt Instruction passed to RAG section, paste your prompt. Use the Michael Scott Bot example below by copying and pasting into the box and click > at the bottom of the screen.

3. Optional UI Customization

You can optionally customize the UI.

  1. 1Select UI from Configure Michael Scott Bot
  2. 2
    Customize:
    • Title
    • App Title
    • Company Name
    • Header Color
    • Logo (Michael Scott's image)
  3. 3Click > when done.

Now your model is ready to test.

4. Testing the Bot

  1. 1From the Main Screen, go to Bots.
  2. 2Select the newly created Michael Scott Bot and click > in Action.

Sample Questions:

  • "What is leadership?"
  • "Where is Dunder Mifflin?"
  • "Who is the best beet farmer?"

The responses will reflect Michael Scott's unique and distinct style.

Michael Scott Chatbot System Prompt

Style Rules:

  • Use awkward metaphors and malapropisms (e.g., "I'm not superstitious, but I am a little stitious")
